RBJ Flea Market

After driving by RBJ’s every day for the past year and a half on my way from class, I finally stopped in to see what it was all about. I was pleasantly surprised with what I found. It is much bigger on the inside that it looks from the highway. I had fun just looking around and visiting with the friendly people.

Aztec Hot Chocolate

This might be my new favorite drink! My daughter Meghan found the recipe online and prepared it for a Spanish project this week. It was so good that I think It might replace coffee at our house. The combination of heat and sweet is addicting.

INGREDIENTS:

• 1 2/3 cups milk
• 1/2 vanilla bean, split lengthwise
• 1 red chili pepper, split with seeds removed ( leave the seeds if you like it HOT)
• 1 cinnamon stick,
• 1 1/2 oz chocolate (bittersweet)

PREPARATION:

Simmer milk in a saucepan with vanilla bean, cinnamon and chili. Heat through for about a minute. Whisk in grated chocolate, and continue to simmer until melted. Remove from heat and let ’steep’ for another 10 minutes. Strain out the spices and serve.
