weddings are hard work for a photographer and usually a very long day of shooting followed by endless hours of editing files. I love shooting the weddings, but had begun to wonder if they are worth all of the hours that go into producing a beautiful album for the couple. Some days I understand why so many photographers have given in and just hand over the disk, leaving the customer to finish the product for themselves.
Today I received a call from a very recent wedding client. The brides grandfather had passed and they were hoping for a picture of him to use at the funeral service. I browsed through the 1500 images and found one that truly captured the happiness of the day. It is the brides grandfather with the brightest smile at the reception. An elderly gentleman in his dress shirt and tie towards the end of a long day, showing only signs of love and joy.
